Crafty Gals #214 'Tis The Season'

Well this is a first.  I thought I had written and published my blog post.  Well I can't find it anywhere.  It's that darned Elf on the shelf.  He did it.  Well anyway here is a new and improved post for challenge #214.  Theme is 'Tis the season'.  Before I show off my card, let me introduce our sponsor(s) for this challenge.

The Paper Shelter
Prize~3 Digital Stamps
Prize~Paper Pack and Image Pack
used by Crafty Gals Design Team

These sponsors are the greatest!  They allow the dt to select images and then we get to create an project showcasing their image.  Everyone please go show some love.

Now for my card.  I have used 'My Christmas Snowball' Digital stamp and digital paper pack. You can use the image colored or not.  I chose to use the colored one and embellish with some embossing.  So here it is!

Here is the front.  I have used some light blue ribbon
for the corners.  Next I used some gold embossing
powder to accent the frame.

This is the inside.  I will write a message when I
send the card out.

I decorated the envelope with a small Christmas
tree stamp.

The reason that I used the printed image is two fold.  One it was fast.  Two I couldn't see very well yet.  My eyes are healing very nicely.  So January 2021 watch out.  I will be coloring up a storm.

That is it for this post.  I am wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Brightest Blessings,

Crafty Gals Challenge #213 Thankful

Hello!  Well great news.  One cataract surgery done.  I really think that the unknown and the anticipation of being able to see clearly were the biggest hurdles to over come.  Oh and the not doing anything or lifting anything for 14 days really got to me.  Hey, I can watch TV and NOT wear glasses for the first time in my life.  I have the next surgery on Thursday, November 12, 2020 early in the morning.  My crafters please keep me in your thoughts.  I would greatly appreciate it!

On to this months challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner . This will be #213 and the theme is thankful.  Let's see who graciously offered images for the design team to show off!

Prize~2 Digital Images

Prize~$10 Gift Certificate

These two sponsors are fabulous.  The images are so fun and print like a dream.  Please go show them some love!

This challenge I am working with an image from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  It's is called Gnome Sweet Gnome.  As you can guess it has to do with gnomes!! Here is what I have created.

Here is the envelope

For the card, I started with some paper that has
Douglas Fir trees.  Next I colored the gnome home
using Prismacolor and Arteza colored pencils.  I
decided that the house needed some ground and
extra grass.  The grass is a die and the grass is
light brown AC cardstock.  Next the sign is also a
die and I inked the edges and printed out the
digital image's name.

The inside has a sticker border that is cut in half.
The 'thanks so much' is printed on vellum.

I hope you like what I have came up with.  It was a lot of fun.  So until next time, stay safe and healthy.

Brightest Blessings,

PS: Happy Thanksgiving!

Challenge #212 Halloween Colors

Hey everybody!  Well I have had some news.  My eyesight has been slowly dimming over the past few months.  I went to my ophthalmologist and low and behold I have cataracts.  So I am all scheduled for surgery and recovery.  I should be back up and running by the 2nd week of December 2020.  Wish me luck.

So this months challenge is 'Halloween Colors'.  Let's see who is sponsoring this month!

LeAnn's World 101
Prize~2 Digital Images

Prize~3 Single Digital Images

Wow what a line up of fabulous sponsors.  If you haven't seen any of these artists work please go leave some love and have a look around!

This months creation is something I do on a regular basis.  I am a Happy Planner girl.  I try to decorate each month.  Sometimes I get this done and sometimes not. But this past week was special.  It was my daughters birthday.  So here are a few pics of my decorating!

This is my planner for 2020.  I just happened to
find this at St. Vinnies on a treasure hunt.

(Pls click for a larger view)  This layout is for the
week of Oct 5-Oct 12 2020.  My daughters BD is
Monday and we celebrate all week.

My image is from
LeAnn's World 101 and is called 'Punkin".  I colored
it using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I also mirrored the
image so they would be facing each other.  The
backgrounds are scraps and I used washi tape for
edges and dividers.

Here is the other half of the week.  The new font
is called Mahligai and was downloaded from
dafont.com.

Here is the finished layout.

My daughter and I had a Saturday of retail therapy and then I took them both out to dinner at a really nice brewery called Gilgamesh in Salem, Oregon.  The food was delish!

So that is this months creation.  I am trying to get my projects for November and December done very early.  So until my next post, stay safe and healthy.

Brightest Blessings,

Crafty Gals Challenge #211 Fall Colors

Hello and welcome to my blog.  For challenge #211 the theme is Fall Colors.  Pretty straight forward.  Wellllllllllllllllllllllll...

I got my themes mixed up.  I thought the theme was stripes and polka dots.  So my creation doesn't fit the fall colors but it's still pretty.  We have one sponsor for this challenge.

Prize~3 Digi Stamps

Can I tell you how much I look forward to coloring an image from Digi Doodle Studios?  I LOVE these images.  Please please go leave a little love.  Here is the link Digi Doodle Studios.

Now on to my project.  I colored up a wonderful image that can be used all year round.  Chef Cinnamon is her name.  Cooking is her game!  Let me show you what I came up with.

I love the way she turned out.  I found this back-
ground paper in a book I picked up when my
Tuesday Morning was going out of business.  The
paper pad is made by Jen Hadfield and is called
'My Bright Life'.  The Mmmmm sticker is foam.
The border was made by cutting a striped paper
against the stripe.  The polka dots are on the
beautiful dress.  I colored her with a mix of Prisma-
color and Arteza pencils.

More foam stickers in the corners and the back
ground paper is a scrap.

Back of my card.

Short and sweet post today.  May I ask a favor?  My beautiful state of Oregon has massive wildfires burning throughout the state.  Please pray for our firefighters and for much needed rain.

My crafty's stay safe and please stay healthy.  Bright blessings,

Summer Time Fun Challenge #210 Crafty Gals Corner Challenge

Gosh where has the time gone.  It's flying by so fast.  I did the first chores of my Autumn/Fall (shhhhhhh Halloween) cleaning.  I love this time of year.  The weather is even cooperating.  Lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's.  I'll take it!  Now on to this months challenge.  The theme is 'Summer Time Fun'.  Here are the absolutely fabulous sponsor(s).

Twinkle Lane Designs

Prize~2 Digital Images &
2 Coordinating Digital Paper Sets

I am always amazed with the digital images and super prizes that our sponsor(s) provide for our monthly challenge.  My dear crafties, please go and leave some love for them.  They and I would greatly appreciate it.

Now on to my creation.  In my neighborhood, my neighbor across the street has planted a victory garden.  It is in what was the parking strip.  There is the biggest sunflowers I think I have ever seen.  So my image is from Twinkle Lane Designs.  I have used Sunflower Bouquet & Honey Bees Digital Papers.  So here is my Summer Time Fun creation.

I colored the image using my Arteza pencils.  Using
my extremely sharp needle nose scissors I fussy cut
the Sunflower Bouquet out.  Next I printed out one
of the Honey Bees Digital Paper Sets.  With this on
the card, I attached the bouquet with pop dots and
added some ribbon and stickers.

On the inside, I used the same background paper
as the front of the card.  I have had this pink ribbon
for ages.  It fit the bill perfectly.  I added more
stickers from the Garden Party sheet.

Here is the back.  I wanted to show you the new
label.  I really like the grand staff and the colors.

Here is a close-up of the sticker.

As always if you would like a listing of materials and pencils used just ask.  Thank you so much for visiting.  Next month I have a cutie to share with you.

Take care and stay safe my friends.  Bright Blessings,

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #209 Fantasy World

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the revamped Rhapsody On Paper blog.  Some new wallpaper and a new banner and this blog is ready for the next few months/years.  Can you believe it has been 7 years?  Gosh how time flies!

CGCC #209 Fantasy World is here.  I was extremely excited to work with this amazing designer, Morgan's ArtWorld Digi Stamps.  Here are the sponsors in alphabetical order.

Prize~3 Digital Images

Prize~2 Digital Images

Prize~3 Digital Images used by the DT
for Challenge #209 Fantasy World

All 3 of our sponsors are amazing.  Everyone please show them some love either on their Facebook page or their links above.  Love all that our sponsors do for Crafty Gals Corner Challenges.

On to my project.  My image is called Fantasy Fae Digi Stamp 16.  I must say that my eyes had a really hard time coloring this.  BUT-I found a work-around.  I use a program called Sure Cuts A Lot 5 for my big Silver Bullet Cutter.  I colored this image at full size.  Then using the program, I reduced the image in size and printed it out.  I fussy cut it out and here are the results. (might want to click on the pics to see them better)

Here she is all colored with a mix of Prismacolors
and Arteza pencils.  So glad I used purple for a
skin tone.

Here is where I had a problem.  Can you see how
much the color changed when photocopied?  Any
ideas on how to prevent this are greatly appreciated.

Base is Purple Gemstones by Core'dinations.  Back-
ground paper is Blue Celebration by Colorbok.  Die
used is Spellbinders Nest-a-bilities #S5-159.  I
wrote down the colors used.  If you would like a
copy just email me.

The verse is from an image I found after doing a
Bing search for get well soon cards.

Of course I decorated the back also.  Oh I used
Pebbles Chalk for the edges.

I am so happy to have you visit.  What do you think of the new look?  Leave me a comment.  Until next time,

Brightest Blessings,

Southern Girls Challenge Anything Goes

I'mmmmmm back!  Hope everyone had a very happy Valentines day.  I remembered to make a cute card and a special dinner.  The hubster forgot all about it.  That's OK.  I'll just spend a little more on craft supplies this month.

Over at Southern Girls Challenge, Team Trace is ready to go with the next challenge that starts Thursday March 5, 2020 at 9:00am AU time.  We have some great sponsors for this challenge.

Remember crafters, if you live in AU or NZ make sure you label your link.  You will be entered into a special drawing.

This month my image is from Oddball Art.  The image is called Cute Fairy Girl in heart Antenna.  This I have to say was a challenge for me.  I wasn't quite sure what to do.

That was all settled when a dear friend had emergency surgery.  Thinking of you card in purple on its way!  I wrote down every color I used and now can't find the paper.  Bet my kitty ate it.  Well here is what I came up with.

Once I had a plan the colors came together very quickly.  I have used
holographic silver, purple and green 1/8th inch ribbon and a lot of scraps.

I will write a note on the inside.

Here is the back side.

Well that's my post for this challenge.  I really really hope that you can enter.  It's a lot of fun.  Anything Goes is the theme.  So go create something.

Bright Blessings,
