Challenge #170 Christmas in July

Yippee!  Christmas in July is here.  I think just about all challenge blogs have a Christmas in July challenge.  Crafty Gals Corner Challenge isn't alone.  So your creation for this fortnights challenge must be Christmas themed.  But first, let's see who your fantastic sponsor(s) are for the special challenge.

Scrap and Dippity
PRIZE:  3 ~ Digital Images

PRIZE:  2 ~ Digital Images

Bugaboo Stamps
PRIZE: $12 Gift Certificate

Are you seeing what I am seeing?  3 FABULOUS sponsors for this fortnights challenge.  Remember if we didn't have sponsors we wouldn't have a challenge.  Please go show some love!!!

For the past couple of blog posts, I keep telling myself to list the supplies and colors for my projects.  Here are the lyrics...

Spectrum Noir Markers~FS4, EB2, TN3, FS1 & BG2 (face colors)

Prismacolor Colored Pencils ~ 923, 918, 915, 910, 1008, 903, 901, 1017, 1003 & 904

Supplies used ~ Silver Bullet 24" Pro cutter, SCAL5, Rotary cutter, Needle Nosed Tweesers, ATG, Aleens Tacky Glue, DCWV, American Crafts and some I don't have the faintest idea where or who made it papers, Sparkle Pens from Costco & most important Mountain Chill radio station and Frappe Freeze drink mix from Costco (to keep me on track of course).  I am sure there are many other supplies but I can't seem to recall them.

On to my creation for this challenge.  My image is from Rick St. Dennis and is called Star Pixies Trio.  I absolutely love his designs.  So here is what I came up with.

Remember the carol Deck the Halls, look at each pixie's hat.

Here is the top inside.

The sentiment.  2 very old Stamp'in Up stamps probably 2009.
I try to always decorate the back!

Now for a surprise!   How about a contest!  I would love to give away something for someone.  I buy stuff all the time I think would make a good prize.  So lets clean out the treasure chest some.  All you have to do is like  my facebook page Then come back to the blog and tell me what my favorite radio station is. Have to read the blog post to find out.   Leave the answer in the comments here on the blog.  I will use random.org to pick a winner at the end of this challenge.  Just something fun for Christmas In July.

So that's it for this challenge.  Spread the word about the contest please.  Haven't the faintest idea what the prize(s) will be but it will be over $10.  Take care in this heat wave.  Bright blessings my friends,

WOW!  Such a great group of sponsors this week.  Remember gang to visit and show some love.

This week I am very lucky to work with DecossesDynamiteDoodles.  Such a wonderful place!  Lisa is great to work with and has a lot of sets available.  I am using Spirit of Balloon Papers & Celebration Kit by Decosse's Dynamite Doodle.  What a great set.  The background printed perfectly and this set also had a variety of sentiments to choose from.  So this is going to be picture heavy so here we go!

I wanted to show you my cutters and Gemini.
I have them in my bay window.

This is my Silver Bullet Pro 24" cutter.  Can't live without
this machine.

I am making an Eclipse card.  The letters are cut out of the special paper you have choosen (see pic below, upper right)  Then you have to make layers to pop up your saying.  I am cutting 7 layers out of tag board.  Hope you can see it.

Tag board cut for seven layers to pop up each letter.

Cutting leftovers.

Here are the letters ready to be glued together.

Gluing everything together.

On vellum I printed out the sentiment on my laser printer.
Next I foiled it using my Foil Master.

Here are the layers to add
to the front.

I certainly hope you liked my mini tutorial.  Make sure that you go visit DecossesDynamiteDoodles.  It was a pleasure working with Lisa!  Now coming up in 2 weeks is a surprise.  But think Santa and the saying Christmas in July!

Take care, enjoy celebrating the 4th.  Bright Blessings, Jana
