Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #244 'Fancy Fold for Father's Day

Welcome back everyone.  I hope each of you had a wonderful Mother's Day and Memorial Day celebration here in the USA.  This months challenge is fancy folds.  Now my team mate Cathie Synder-Watt Cathies Evil Queen Crafting has been making the most incredible cards.  I asked where she got the patterns from?  Here is the link.  Sam Calcott is the designer.  She has an amazing youtube video log of all the designs and walks you threw each one.  Go check her out.  Here are the sponsors for the June challenge.

Prize~~2 Digital Images of the winners choice

Prize~~3 Sets of Digi's

I am amazed at the sponsors that we have to chose from and show off.  Last Minute Manda is fairly new to me.  Dr. Digi's, well let's just say I have a large collection of images.  I have found that both have wonderful and crisp images.  Each company is a joy to work with.  Go show some love and give them each a big 'thank you'.

On to my creation.  This challenge is where I get to chose an image that I use to make my hubby's birthday card for July.  I have chosen a image that fits him to a 'T'.  It is from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and called Solitare Saul.  Here is my creation for hubby's birthday. (btw he will be 83)

First off I colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils,
Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers and possible some Prang Pencils.
I fussy cut the image and mounted it on pearlized cream, green
glitter & solid black card.  I paper pieced the desk, pj bottoms and
his light gray tee-shirt.  The computer set up is identical and I
colored our orange cat (Little One) who does sit on hubby's
desk.  I again used the green glitter and black combination to
mount the playing cards on.  Here is where the fancy fold comes in.
The link for the Sam Calcott design follows:
Double Tower Fold Card.  This was so simple when I had the step-
by step instructions.  I watched the video a couple of times and
then dove in.  Love how it turned out!

This is the back side.  I just cut a piece of paper to fit the
center and for the corners added strips of green foil.  I'll
sign it later.

Here is the envelope I made.

Now the funny thing about this image from Dr. Digi's is that this is Bob.  He sits at his computer playing Solitare constantly.  The cat may or may not be present.  So when I saw this image I knew I needed to use it.  So Happy birthday dear hubby!

That is it for the month of June.  Christmas in July is next.  So from my heart,

Stay Healthy, Stay Safe and know you are blessed!!

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #298 Humorous

Hello and welcome back to another challenge at The Crafter's Cafe.  June's theme is 'humorous'.  So cute, silly, funny the skies the limit.  But first let me show you who our sponsors are.

Prize~~2 Images

Prize~~3 Images

These are two of my most favorite sponsors.  I'm fairly new to My Besties but I am finding that their images are crisp and clean and easy to color.  Now Dr. Digi's are a big favorite and my collection of images is quite large.  Please go and show some love and say a quick thank you!!!

I was excited to chose an image from My Besties entitled 'Little Mini Monster #849'.  This is what I have created.

The little boy across the street celebrated his 6th birthday on
May 22.  I needed a tag for a present.  This was just the ticket.  I
colored the little mini monster with my Prismacolor Pencils and
the Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers.  Next I did a print and cut
using the Silver Bullet Pro machine.  Next I found a set of nested
dies and die cut some scraps.  Dark blue card, gold holographic
paper and a scrap of paper with stars on it.  I searched for a
ribbon and found a gold spool with wire edges.  Fit it through
a hole I punched in the top.  Tag made!

Here is what the completed tag looks like from the front.

And here is the back.  I later put his name on the tag and
signed it.

That's it for June!  Next month I will be back with a Christmas in July project.  So from my heart,

Stay Healthy, Stay safe and know that you are blessed!
