Challenge #128 Any Holiday

Hi everyone!  About 3 years ago while designing for ScrappyDew I created a project that I called a "DOOZIE".  This project was a scene for my mantel for Halloween and contained about 4 weeks of paper crafting.  I am updating my doozie project with brand new items.  This challenge allowed me to create the very first item of the 2017 Halloween Doozie!

As always lets see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are for this week.  Gang, make sure to show them some love.  They sponsor our challenges and give out incredible prizes!  Here they are...

Wow some really cool prizes this week.  I have to tell you a secret.  I LOVE Rick St. Dennis images. They are so detailed and just a joy to color.  That is why for this weeks image I picked Isabella Trick or Treat.  She is going to be the main character of my new mantel decorations.

Basically what I did is color her using every single maker of colored pencils that I have.  I used Prismacolor, Derwent, Koh-I-Noor, Spectrum Noir, Sivo (from India) and good old Prang.   Next I fussie cut Isabella out of the 110 lb white card stock.  I fashioned a clear plastic stand and glue dotted it onto her back.  Here she is...

Isn't she fabulous.  I can see her roaming around the features on the mantel for Halloween.  That's it for this week.  Hope you have your very best week ever!!!  Love to all, Jana

CGCC #127 Vintage

You know, when I was growing up I didn't think about some of the things I used.  Hand held crank egg beater, a beautiful bureau that my dad refinished and many more pieces of antique furniture that would cost a fortune now.  We just called them old.  Well vintage is all the rage.  I do wish I had kept a lot of the old stuff.

This week we only have one sponsor.  Remember gang, please show the sponsor(s) some love.  This weeks sponsor is...

Prize:  3 Digital Images

So these are the items that I have used to create my vintage card:

~Vivid colored pencils by Sivo (clearance item at Walmart)
~Steampunk Spells Graphic 45 papers
~Ofray 1/8 inch ribbon
~White Gel Pen
~Blue Pastel chalk
~Make the Cut Software program
~KNK Zing electronic cutter
~Last but not least Faery Ink image "Ghost & Pumpkin"

I tried something new for this card.  Many moons ago I used this technique.  You cut a square the size you want.  Then cut diagonally lines on the square.  Take a chopstick or knitting needle and wrap the
first of the 4 triangles you have make on the square around your chopstick.  This makes a really nice looking frame effect.

Here is my Vintage card  using the wonderful digital images from Faery Ink!
The front, see the framing effect.

This is the very simple inside.

This is it for this week.  Next weeks challenge is going to be really fun.  So get your crayons out and join me.  Have a very fabulous week my friend, Blessings, Jana

Challenge #126 Emboss it!

Hello and boy howdy do I have some exciting news.  I have returned to the work force.  We own a machine shop and 'The Bob' is a machinist.  We had both been retired for 5 years but due to forces beyond our control, back to the shop we both go.  Here is the added bonus, it's MY office and I can craft whenever I want to.  I even have a huge glass bead machine to use to etch glass.  My creativity is jumping up and down.  Life is good.

This weeks challenge is "EMBOSS IT!".  But first lets see who our fantastic sponsor(s) are for challenge  #126.

Prize:  3 Digital Images

What great prizes for this weeks challenge.  Now on to what I came up with.  I have used an image called Warmest Wishes provided by Lia Stampz.  Super cute to work with.  I have embossed the hat, glove and little cocoa cup.  The paper is also embossed.  I hope you enjoy seeing what I came up with.  And like all weeks, if you need more information I will shoot it your way.  Just let me know!

This is a Cocoa Cup Pocket Card SVG that can be found over at My Scrap Chick

Here is what is in the pocket.
I loved making this card.  It is not a usual Christmas card.  Something different to bring a smile to some ones face.  That's it for this weeks challenge.  Make sure you check out our sponsor(s) and leave some love.  Have your best week ever!  Bright blessings, Jana

Challenge #125 Anything Goes

Hello and welcome back for another Crafty Gals Corner Challenge.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.  I didn't get a chance to decorate graves this year but I will be out there next year with bells on.  Before I show you my project for this week, let's see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are...

Prize:  $20 Gift Certificate

Prize:  3 Digital Images
Wow, those are some pretty fantastic prizes for this week.  So make sure that you go on over to Crafty Gals Corner Challenge and link up your project.  This week is ANYTHING GOES!  So have some fun.  Remember to show some love for our sponsor(s) also.
So for this weeks project I have an image called All American Avery by The Paper Nest Dolls.  This image would have been perfect for Memorial Day.  I did make it for the 4th of July.  I guess it would work for Veterns Day also.  Not much to tell you about what I used in the way of materials.  I just colored with Prang colored pencils.  I did use some SVG's from from the Scrap Factory program created by ScrappyDew!  I used Recollections paper for the base card and just went from there.  Here is my inspiration.
I think that All American Avery is very patriotic!

This is the inside.

That is it for this week.  I can't wait for the start of July.  Crafty Gals Corner Challenges has some fantastic designers joining.  So stay tuned for their debut.  Bright blessings for your best week ever!  Blessings, Jana

Morgan's Art World

Prize:  # Digital Images

Two great sponsors this week.  Remember friends, please give some love to them.  Without our sponsors there would NOT be a Crafty Gals Corner Challenge.  We LOVE our sponsors!!!

So now on to my project.  This week my image is from Morgan's Art World.  The image is called Kitten at Nap time.  This kitty is just a perfect match of my late kitty Munchkin Forrest.  He was a brute of a cat and could be a great cuddler.  If you would like a list of materials used, just email me or comment and I will get it right to you.

So without further ado...

The image was a total joy to color.  I let my imagination take me away with all the colorful blankets and quilts.  I actually have a crazy quilt that my mama made.  Quilts are to treasure.  That's it for this week.  Next week I have an early start to 4th of July.

(3) Digital Image

Boy howdy, what a bunch of great prizes for this week.  Make sure you show some love to our sponsors.  They greatly appreciate it.

My project this week is from Digital Delights.  The image is called Ms. Luvvy Owl.  Such a great image and so many options/ideas that can be done with this one.  Here is what I came up with.

This is a thank you card for a birthday present that I received.

I love the way that I popped up the owl with foam dots.  The paper is from DCWV and is called purple petals.  I've had this forever.  Time to use some paper that I have been saving for a rainy day.

Short and sweet this week.  Be back next week with another digital image.  Have your best week ever, bright blessings, Jana

Challenge #122 Bring on the bling!

It's all about bling for this weeks new challenge.  Gosh it's challenge #122.  Time flies when you are having fun.  1st, let's see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are for this weeks challenge.

Prize:  $15 Gift Certificate

For this weeks challenge I have a digital image called Penguin Love.  I requested the colored version and did a print and cut with my fabulous KNK Zing cutter and MTC (Make The Cut) software.  The minute I saw this image I knew exactly what type of card to make.  (sometimes you just get lucky)  The center step card instructions are available over at Splitcoast Stampers.  The background paper was also provided by The Paper Shelter.  So here is what I came up with...

This is how a center step card is folded

The paper provided by The Paper Shelter

Finally the outside of the card.

Next week is another really fun challenge.  To all the mom's around the United States, A very happy Mothers Day this upcoming Sunday.

My digital image this week is from Kitty Bee Designs.  It is called Narwhal Love.  Did you know that a Narwhal is called the unicorn of the sea?  Yeppers!  My Narwhals are a little fancy with different colored tooth.  Another fact, the horn on a Narwhal is actually a tooth that grows this way.  Very little supplies were used in this project.  So I think I will just show you what I made.

These are the backs
These are the fronts

This will finish off my birthday card marathon for 2017.  Now on to a friends request for some pretty note cards to send to friends.

Boy howdy, those are some nice prizes.  Now on to what I have created for this week.  Each May, I have 10 dear friends that I make birthday cards for.  I go into production mode and create an assembly line.  It has worked out great for the last 4 years.  This year is a little different.  I am coloring each image and then putting the focal point in a pile, then making the cards.  So let me show you the start of the first set of 5 cards.

This is Tori the birthday dragon girl from Conie Fong.  I just love her images.
