Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #235 "Signs of Fall"

I can't tell you how happy I am to see the fall weather starting here in Oregon. The forecaster that I trust the most has recently stated that there will be no more heat advisories or streaks of 90 degree weather. I just can't handle the heat anymore. Thank goodness for Central Air. I do have a friend that lives in Kenai, AK that I could visit in case of emergency.

Signs of Fall is the theme for challenge #235. Let's see who our wonderful sponsors are.

Such wonderful sponsors! They both have delightful images that are crisp and clean. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon coloring! Go show some love and check them both out!

Now on to my creation. I have used an image from Crafty Sentiments Design called Halloween Bride. A little background is needed. My dear daughter was born in the month of October. I have never changed the way I planned a party or designed a card. It's always Halloween themed. So this year I have made two gift tags. I think she will love them. Here we go!

Isn't she adorable. I have used two chipboard tags from a
company called Market Tags. I got these many years ago
during a Tuesday Morning Haul. Next I found some paper
that just screamed party. It has streamers and the word Fiesta
scattered around. I printed out the Halloween Bride twice and
colored both using Prismacolor Pencils. Did a print and cut
using Sure Cuts A Lot software and my Silver Bullet Cutter.
Glued each on a tag and put ribbon on so I can attach each
one on a present.

Here is the front and back of the blue Halloween Bride tag.
the Orange tag has orange dotted paper on the back of the tag.

This was a fun and easy project. I will be sewing away for the next few weeks on a birthday present. I will have pictures of it for next months blog post. So for now...

Crafter's Cafe #288 Relaxation Day

I wasn't aware of this holiday and maybe you aren't either.  August 15th is National Relaxation day.  So that is the theme for this months challenge.  You can create something in paper that represents relaxing to you.

But before we get started I wanted to let you know that this is a dual challenge.  Crafter's Cafe has teamed

up with the Double Trouble Challenge.  So you can enter two challenges with the same theme, 'relaxation'.  So let's see who our sponsors are.

Prize~$10 voucher for images only

Can you imagine a crafting world without challenges or blogs?  Or heaven help us no sponsors?  I can't either.  So please gang, go show some love and maybe say a little thank you.

So on to my project.  I am using an image from Sheepski Designs called The Bots image number #209.  Here is what I have created.

My idea of a relaxing moment is walking the dog.  The base is
gray embossed Neenah.  The background is one I found as a
free clip art image on google.  The sky is a scrap.  I colored my
bots using Prismacolor pencils and highlighted using
Gel Glitter Pens.  I cut out little hearts to put on spot.
The sign is printed on a scrap.

Here I printed the sentiment on another piece of scrap paper.
I just love the little paper umbrella.

So that's it for this month.  Now I will get Septembers project done and posted early because I am having carpal tunnel surgery on Sept. 6th, 2022.  So if you would please, keep me in your prayers.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #234 'Lazy days of summer'

Hello hello hello everyone!!!  As most of you know, I live in Oregon, USA.  We rarely see any thunderstorms.  Well we had a couple of rumbles just now.  I am not turning off the computer as I have a very expensive surge protector on both computers and all the other electronic stuff.  So I am eating Campbells Creamy Chicken and Dumplings soup and writing this blog post.  Now on to the sponsors.

These are some of the cream of the crop for sponsors.  I have designed with all of them for different teams and the images are just wonderful to work with.  Please go show some love!

On to what I have created.  I have made a card using an image from Colour of Love called Possum Dragonflies.  These possums are just so cute and there are many to chose from. Go have a look.

I used my Prismacolor Pencils, Arteza Pencils, Glitter Gel
pens and paper piecing to create this card.  The card base is
Paper Accents. The hot pink is Astro brights copy paper.  The
ground is cut freehand and applied to the base card.  The
umbrella is just because it is summer!!!

Here is how I decorated the inside.  The stickers are from my
Happy Planner sticker box.  The background paper is a scrap.

The back of the card with my new stickers.

So what did you think?  I have to admit that I love those possums and whenever I get to design with
Colour Of Love I try and find a new one.

Boy lazy days of summer sure is hitting hard.  I am so thankful I live on the west coast in Oregon.  The heat really doesn't last very long and isn't hot.  (yes, i am knocking on wood)

Thank you so much for visiting and I will see you next month with another creation.

Stay safe, Stay Healthy and know that you are blessed!
