Welcome back everyone. I hope each of you had a wonderful Mother's Day and Memorial Day celebration here in the USA. This months challenge is fancy folds. Now my team mate Cathie Synder-Watt Cathies Evil Queen Crafting has been making the most incredible cards. I asked where she got the patterns from? Here is the link. Sam Calcott is the designer. She has an amazing youtube video log of all the designs and walks you threw each one. Go check her out. Here are the sponsors for the June challenge.
First off I colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils, Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers and possible some Prang Pencils. I fussy cut the image and mounted it on pearlized cream, green glitter & solid black card. I paper pieced the desk, pj bottoms and his light gray tee-shirt. The computer set up is identical and I colored our orange cat (Little One) who does sit on hubby's desk. I again used the green glitter and black combination to mount the playing cards on. Here is where the fancy fold comes in. The link for the Sam Calcott design follows: Double Tower Fold Card. This was so simple when I had the step- by step instructions. I watched the video a couple of times and then dove in. Love how it turned out! |
This is the back side. I just cut a piece of paper to fit the center and for the corners added strips of green foil. I'll sign it later. |
Here is the envelope I made. |
Now the funny thing about this image from Dr. Digi's is that this is Bob. He sits at his computer playing Solitare constantly. The cat may or may not be present. So when I saw this image I knew I needed to use it. So Happy birthday dear hubby!
