Challenge #220 'One of the boys'.

Hey there and welcome back for another challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.  This month's theme is 'One of the boys'.  Of course with Fathers Day on June 20, (also summer solstice) it's the perfect theme for June!  Let's start with our sponsors.

Dr. Digi's House of Stamps

Prize~2 Digital Images

Ike's Art

Prize~$10 Gift Certificate

Patties Creations

Prize~3 Digital Images

What fantastic sponsors!  Did you see the great prizes?  Tell all your friends to enter this months challenge.  But remember, please leave some love for each of our sponsors.  They do appreciate it!

This month I chose an image from Ikes Art entitled WTF.  This is not what I used on my card.  I used this image as a birthday card for 'The Bob'. (hubby)  So this is what I came up with.

Yes that says What's The Fuss? (like how I did that)
The image of the man is colored with Prismacolor
pencils and I fussy cut it.  The blue card is AC and
the other paper is scraps.  This is what is called
a bridge card.

The card is a A2 (4.25 by 5.50 inches) and scored
in the middle like a normal card.
Place the card on it's side and slice from the
fold down at 1 1/2 inches on each side.  You
end up with 3 panels to decorate. If you look closely,
the man is attached to a inch wide acrylic strip
which is glued down underneath each 1 1/2 sides.
Next I printed the saying on more scrap and attached
it to the middle front.

Here is a picture with the side panels turned over.
See there is the front panel without the man.

Flipping the front panel over this is the inside.  Yes
my dear hubby is going to be 81 in July.  (May-
december romance.  He is 19 years older than myself)
I don't think I can get 81 candles on a 9 inch apple pie!
Maybe just a cute 81 years young topper?  I'll take a
pic with what I come up with.

Well that's a wrap for this month!  Now in July I have big news.  So make sure you visit me on or around the first of the month.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and be very Blessed,

Challenge #219 Easter/Spring

Hello everyone!  Hope you had a wonderful Easter celebration.  My family decided not to take a chance and will celebrate later in the year.  On another note, this computer is acting up.  So bear with me.  This is going to be a very short post for this month.  I'll write again if I get this fixed.  So here are the sponsors for our Easter/Spring Crafty Gals Challenge.

Prize~$10 Gift Certificate

The Paper Shelter
Prize~3 Digital Stamps

These sponsors are fabulous!  Remember the drill?  Go show some love!!!

I am using a image from Fred She Said Digital Designs.  The set is called Daisies & Ladybugs.  It comes with either printed or B&W images.  I decided to make a slim line card and color the image myself.  Here is the end result.

Can you tell I had fun?  I jumped on the slim line
card frenzy and bought some dies to make cards.
These were unusual.  So I colored up the images.
Put some bling in the center of the flowers.  All
paper used is American Crafts. I colored the image
with a new set of colored pencils from Prang.

I cut two more backgrounds and then printed
this saying.  Enlarge the image to see better.

That's it for this month.  Next month is May and it's my birthday month.  So I hope a trip to Tuesday Morning is in my future.  (maybe a new computer also)

Stay Safe, Keep healthy and brightest blessings,

Crafty Girls Corner Challenge #217 'Make it green'

Greetings!  So glad you could visit today.  Got a question.  Have you ever really noticed how many shades and tints of green there are?  I was riding with my daughter to go shopping up north.  I kept looking out the window. "Mom, what's so interesting out the window?" said daughter.  "I am noticing how many different shades of green there are in spring." I said.  So your homework for this month is to look around at the spring (or fall) colors and really notice them.  You will be amazed!   Now let's see who our sponsor(s) are for this month.

Bugaboo Stamps
Prize~$12 Gift Certificate

Polkadoodles
Prize~£8.50 Gift Certificate

Now on to my project.  I selected an image from Bugaboo Stamps called Peeker March.  Here is my 'make it green' creation.

I have made s slim-line diagonal cut card base.
You can find the pattern over at Splitcoast
Stampers. I have used American Crafts card and
Shamrock paper.  I colored the Leprechaun with
Prismacolor Pencils.  The pots of gold are print
and cuts.  The card uses a belly band as a closure.

Close up of the leprechaun.  I cut him out with a
border of 1/4" and then made a shadow cut of
1/4" larger as shown with the lime green sparkle
paper. Then I cut a 11" x 1" strip to make the
band and attached it to the back of the Leprechaun.

Here is the card without the band.

The inside.  The Shamrocks are clipart.  Words
from dafont.com and printed with Sure Cuts A
Lots 5.054 software.

This is actually the back of the card.  I had a few
leftovers so I put them on the back.  This way
I can write a short note.

I hope that you have a wonderful St. Patricks' Day celebration.  In Oregon,  no celebrating until we have more people vaccinated against Covid-19.

So I wish you health and the brightest blessings!
