Challenge #128 Any Holiday

Hi everyone!  About 3 years ago while designing for ScrappyDew I created a project that I called a "DOOZIE".  This project was a scene for my mantel for Halloween and contained about 4 weeks of paper crafting.  I am updating my doozie project with brand new items.  This challenge allowed me to create the very first item of the 2017 Halloween Doozie!

As always lets see who our fabulous sponsor(s) are for this week.  Gang, make sure to show them some love.  They sponsor our challenges and give out incredible prizes!  Here they are...

PRIZE:  2 DIGITAL IMAGES

PRIZE:  3 DIGITAL IMAGES

Wow some really cool prizes this week.  I have to tell you a secret.  I LOVE Rick St. Dennis images. They are so detailed and just a joy to color.  That is why for this weeks image I picked Isabella Trick or Treat.  She is going to be the main character of my new mantel decorations.

Basically what I did is color her using every single maker of colored pencils that I have.  I used Prismacolor, Derwent, Koh-I-Noor, Spectrum Noir, Sivo (from India) and good old Prang.   Next I fussie cut Isabella out of the 110 lb white card stock.  I fashioned a clear plastic stand and glue dotted it onto her back.  Here she is...

Isn't she fabulous.  I can see her roaming around the features on the mantel for Halloween.  That's it for this week.  Hope you have your very best week ever!!!  Love to all, Jana

CGCC #127 Vintage

You know, when I was growing up I didn't think about some of the things I used.  Hand held crank egg beater, a beautiful bureau that my dad refinished and many more pieces of antique furniture that would cost a fortune now.  We just called them old.  Well vintage is all the rage.  I do wish I had kept a lot of the old stuff.

This week we only have one sponsor.  Remember gang, please show the sponsor(s) some love.  This weeks sponsor is...

Prize:  3 Digital Images

So these are the items that I have used to create my vintage card:

~Vivid colored pencils by Sivo (clearance item at Walmart)
~Steampunk Spells Graphic 45 papers
~Ofray 1/8 inch ribbon
~White Gel Pen
~Blue Pastel chalk
~Make the Cut Software program
~KNK Zing electronic cutter
~Last but not least Faery Ink image "Ghost & Pumpkin"

I tried something new for this card.  Many moons ago I used this technique.  You cut a square the size you want.  Then cut diagonally lines on the square.  Take a chopstick or knitting needle and wrap the
first of the 4 triangles you have make on the square around your chopstick.  This makes a really nice looking frame effect.

Here is my Vintage card  using the wonderful digital images from Faery Ink!
The front, see the framing effect.

This is the very simple inside.

This is it for this week.  Next weeks challenge is going to be really fun.  So get your crayons out and join me.  Have a very fabulous week my friend, Blessings, Jana

Challenge #126 Emboss it!

Hello and boy howdy do I have some exciting news.  I have returned to the work force.  We own a machine shop and 'The Bob' is a machinist.  We had both been retired for 5 years but due to forces beyond our control, back to the shop we both go.  Here is the added bonus, it's MY office and I can craft whenever I want to.  I even have a huge glass bead machine to use to etch glass.  My creativity is jumping up and down.  Life is good.

This weeks challenge is "EMBOSS IT!".  But first lets see who our fantastic sponsor(s) are for challenge  #126.

Prize:  3 Digital Images

What great prizes for this weeks challenge.  Now on to what I came up with.  I have used an image called Warmest Wishes provided by Lia Stampz.  Super cute to work with.  I have embossed the hat, glove and little cocoa cup.  The paper is also embossed.  I hope you enjoy seeing what I came up with.  And like all weeks, if you need more information I will shoot it your way.  Just let me know!

This is a Cocoa Cup Pocket Card SVG that can be found over at My Scrap Chick

Here is what is in the pocket.
I loved making this card.  It is not a usual Christmas card.  Something different to bring a smile to some ones face.  That's it for this weeks challenge.  Make sure you check out our sponsor(s) and leave some love.  Have your best week ever!  Bright blessings, Jana
