Post Holiday Howdies

After all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I have a much needed break with a dear friend to look forward to in January!

Hello all my crafty friends.  It's Saturday and I have a quick and easy thank you note card for you today.  Post holidays howdies was conceived many many years ago by my dear friend Elaine.  She lives in the big city and travels down to the valley especially to touch base with each close friend here.  We've been doing this for years.  The past couple of times I have made a thank you card (since she never lets me pay for anything).  But first lets go over the lyrics...

*Little Sweet Peas 2012 from of course ScrappyDew
*Girlfriends Laughing Set from Art Impressions
*24"Silver Bullet Cutter
*Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL4) software
*ColorBox mirrored solids paper
*DCWV Basic Stack
*Recollections Paper from Michaels
*3M spray adhesive and lean ground beef box from Costco (this is my spray box)
*Needle nose tweezers made by Tweezerman

The original Little Sweet Peas file is to announce twins.  Well I wanted to use the file as a thank you card.  So (pun intended) I used the letter "P" instead of the baby faces.  I had bought a stamp set recently called Girlfriends Laughing Set.  It was perfect for the inside.  So here is what I came up with...
I used the melted perler beads on the card for peas.
In the pic, the peas are frozen.

Don't you just love this stamp.  It was colored with Spectrum Noir
Alcohol Markers.  The background is chalk.

The back is a stamp I got at Joann Fabric and Craft many years ago.
I sure hope that Elaine got a kick out of this.  It was a fun one to make.  I have a birthday card for my DIL to get done and then on to Valentines Day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bright blessings for the coming week!  Jana

Get well soon!

Welcome Back!  It's my ScrappyDew design team day.  Today I have a card featuring the patterns found in Scrap Factory.  This program is a must if you love ScrappyDew files.

Today's card is a get well card for my DILs' mother.  She had knee replacement surgery recently.  I thought I would brighten her day with a special card.  Let's list the lyrics first...

~Scrap Factory program
     Girl-No open toes
     Hair-Lori
     Outfit-Just Girls outfit #5
     Accessories-Crutches and Bandaid
~All paper is Recollections
~Foilmaster by That's Scrap
~Purple Foil material fromThat's Scrap
~My incredible Silver Bullet 24" die-cutting machine
~Sure Cuts A Lot v4.008 software
~Stamp-Sorry about your boo-boo
~Many tools, glue and radio stations

The first thing I wanted to do was increase the size of the bandaid as a background element.  I selected all the bandaid elements and made them to fit a 6x6 card.  I also increased the size slightly on the crutches.  I wanted to put the crutches under her arms but I just didn't have time to figure this out.  The girl I kept at her original size.  Cut and glued all the elements together.  Then cut background papers at 5.5" and 5.75".  So here is how it came out.

The front of the card.  I just love the bandaid paper.

The inside.  Gail plays in the retired Marine Corp Band.  They
appeared in a parade in New Orleans for Mardi Gras
last year.
The back.  I don't feel a card is complete without
something on the back.

So that's it for this week.  Next week I will have something to share about my Post Holiday Howdie I have with a friend today.  We are having lunch and catching up on her trip to New Zealand and Australia this past summer.

So have a week filled with bright blessings, Jana

I'm Back!

Welcome back to another Saturday post using the amazing ScrappyDew digital files.  Hi, I'm Jana (for my newest crafty friends).  Gosh, it's been a month since I last posted.  Gang, I really needed the time to re-group and de-clutter the studio and my life.  After I made all ~300+ cards for the bazaar I was just wiped out.  So time off and I am ready and raring to go once again.  2016 is going to be about cards but other paper projects as well.  But let's start with my personal Christmas cards for 2015.  But lyrics first...

~Howlidays 2014 Scrappy Dew digital file.  I used views #1, 2 and 4.
~Recollections paper
~DCWV Glitter Stack
~3M spray and dusk mask
~White Gel Pen
~G45 12 days of Christmas (pear tree sheets)
~Silver Bullet Electronic Cutter 24"
~Sure Cuts A Lot V4
~And the usual stuff that I use but can't remember to list

Boy Howdy!  There are a lot of little pieces to each part of these cards.  But just take it slow and use envelopes to store each group of pieces and you should be fine.  Each element is straight forward in going together.  The only modification that I made was on the inside.  I found just a single paw print and duplicated it to fit around a 5.50 inch square for a border.

So here are the completed cards and envelopes.  They didn't make it out before Christmas so I am going to call them my warm winter wishes cards (which will be mailed today).

Here are all 6

So that's a wrap for Christmas 2015.  Oh the results of the bazaar, the football cards did not sell at all.  I did sell 4 sets of Christmas cards.  I hope that next year will be better or I don't think I will continue with this bazaar.

So for next week, I hope to have a non-card but paper project using ScrappyDew files.  But for now, Bright blessings, Jana
