A little help when moving!

A while back, my cousin was over and saw my no soliciting sign.  She commissioned me to make one for one of our other cousins.  Seems that even while getting the house ready to move in, she has already been getting solicitors at her door, all varieties.

So welcome back to the saturday posting.  Hope your week was fantastic!  Still working on the birthday cards but had time to create this little sign.  Here are the lyrics...

~Scrap Factory program
~Scrap Factory Expansion Pack Scouts
~Hair is called Flo
~Outfit is Scouts girl
~Deja Vues All the Cookies paper
~Brown We R Memory Keepers washi tape
~MTC
~Zenith Zing
~Bright colored buttons

Have you noticed over at ScrappyDew that many of the same files are also available with the Scrap Factory expansion packs? (i just noticed this)  So I cut out all the pieces and got to work dressing each piece up.  The badges needed to be bigger so I went digging in the bins (i really do have plastic bins) and found the button collection.  Ink some edges, cut out the words and she now has a NO SOLICITING sign for her new front door!

Here is the sign

A little closer look

I did put the sign in a plastic page protector.  She is just so cute!

Now for next week, your guess is as good as mine.  I am still making birthday cards.  But the problem with making them, is i can't show them off until the person has gotten their card.  I am sure I will dream up some other treasure to make.

Have a great weekend, bright blessings, Jana

The start of the birthday rush!

The months of April and May are big birthday card months for me.  Altogether I have a total of 7 card.  Now I try to make each card customized to each of my sisters of my heart.  The first one is Karen.  She is such an amazing person.  She can be a cowgirl at one moment and in the next instant a girly girl.  So thank goodness ScrappyDew has files I can manipulate into a stunning birthday day card.  But of course, first the lyrics....

~Scrap Factory Doll Builder program
~Scrap Factory Expansion Pack Costume Parade Cowgirl
~ScrappyDew file Girly Girl
~ScrappyDew freebie file (get it while you can) Flower Bed
~Recollections scraps
~Envelope is Echo Park Birthday Banner
~various tools
~Make The Cut software

This is what I came up with.  The cowgirl needed something to pull the front of the card together.  I love how the fence and tulips just make the front pop.

front

I cut a cityscape that I found in the gallery of Make the Cut software.

the caption

No card of mine is complete unless the back is decorated also!
I really like the way this turned out.  If you have any questions or comments, please leave me a note.  I love to read them and I will respond!

Next week, I have a door sign for a relative that is moving into a new home.  (just a hint, it has cookies)

SPRING ANNIVERSARY!

I have a very dear 1st cousin.  She and her husband celebrated their wedding anniversary recently.  I was racking my brain on what type of card to create.  Owls seem to be all the rage right now.  ScrappyDew recently came out with a new file featuring owls.  Spring Owls file is what I decided to use.  Oh course here are the lyrics...

~ScrappyDew Spring Owls file
~ScrappyDew Vault file Safari Palz Tree #1
~Recollections scraps
~G45 Le Romantique Enamored Embrace for envelope

The first thing I did was take the entire single owl on a branch image, duplicated it and mirrored it in Make The Cut software.  This way I would have two owls setting on branches.  I used the Safari Palz tree and fitted the owls on branches into it.  Have I said how much I love mixing ScrappyDew files....then just added a catchy phrase and the card is complete!

The front

the inside

see the circle frame, I made that from scratch
in MTC!!!

Even the back is decorated!

Sent it off and Francie just loved it!  So happy for the both of them.  So this weeks project is rather short.  I'll make up for it next week with a detailed birthday card and maybe a mid week posting over on facebook.

Easter blessings to all!

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter.  Here in the studio I have put a fork in Easter crafting.  I have a couple of projects to share and I can finally show off that sewing project that went to my BFF (Michelle's birthday was this week and she got her package).  So let's get this party started.  Lyrics for the first project...

~Scrappy Dew Hanging with my Peeps 2015
~Scrappy Dew Spring Owls 2015
~Printed scrap paper
~6" square center step card (tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers)
~Graphic 45 Butterfly Kisses for the envelope

Now I needed to step up my game.  I see all these beautiful cards made from different patterns and I had to give it a shot.  So my first place to look is always Splitcoast Stampers. They have amazing tutorials.  I had never made a center step card.  Something different but it really suits the way I wanted this card to turn out.  The Spring Owls 2015 file had owls on the swing.  I cut the owls off and made the swing for the little one to sit on.  Here it is!

I used brown embroidery floss on the swing
The inside
The second project for this week are 4 simple treat bag toppers for the neighbor kids and the guys at the shop.  The Hanging with my Peeps file had a peep border that I used.  I save all my large scraps and used these to make the toppers.
Hapeep Easter, thought this was cute!

Just a closer look.

Now on to the sewing project.  The girls and I go to play bingo at the casino to celebrate our birthdays.  On most of the hard core bingo players tables are these bingo bonker bags.  I found a pattern at Joanns and thought you could use it for almost any occasion.  Michelle loves purple.  She deserved a special gift.  So.....SPA IN A BAG WAS CREATED!!!!
Here is the bag and gift card

Bath bombs, foot lotion, aloe socks and a lavender
candle went into Spa in a bag
Whew...............that's a lot of creativity.  I have to say, she was thrilled with the gift and posted a beautiful comment on her facebook page.

That's it for this week.  Next week I have a cute anniversary card.  Also next week you can see what else I have been up to.

Happy Easter to all, Bright blessings, Jana
